This is the 6th version of Khayyam’s translated rubaiyat, but Alianza’s editorial has declared that the main reasons for publishing the book were the importance of the poet’s work and the fact that it is bilingual.
The publication has referred to Khayyam as a man who took pleasure in freedom, as well as being an astrologist, physician, philosopher, and musician. It also mentions that his poetry is full of beauty and eastern spirit.
The book is a translation of the corrected copy of the rubaiyat by Iranian Persian literature researchers, Mohammad-Ali Forughi and Qasem Ghani.
Janes and Taheri have previously translated works by Hafez, Rumi, Nima, Sohrab Sepehri, and Ahmad Shamlu.
